主要活性成份為印度苦楝精華Neem extract，含天然的消炎抗菌、抗氧化作用、有助清新口氣、去除污漬及保護牙齦，不含氟化物Fluoride、人造起泡劑SLS、Paraben類防腐劑、人工甜味劑、色素及防腐劑等有害物質。
1. 消炎、抗菌、抗氧化
Theraneem以印度苦楝精華Neem extract為活性成份，加入苦楝葉及樹皮提取物。苦楝在印度古老的醫學系統阿育吠陀Ayurveda 中被視為萬靈藥，而且廣泛被使用於生活中。
根據記載，印度苦楝樹有滅蟲、消炎、抗菌、抗氧化的作用，功效更應用於口腔保健，有「牙刷樹」之稱。在古代人們會將苦楝樹的枝葉咬開，輕輕刷牙，而苦楝樹汁亦有防止蛀牙的功效。
2. 不含氟化物Fluoride
市面的牙膏普遍都含有氟化物，不少人都知道氟化物可以防止蛀牙，卻不知道誤吞氟化物有機會損害牙齒形成細胞，導致氟斑牙。嚴重者更會出現氟中毒，危害大腦和骨骼發展。
外國有研究發現，飲用含氟自來水的地區內，有48%都出現氟斑牙（牙齒出現永久性的棕色條紋，琺瑯質變得粗糙，難以清洗）的症狀 。
另外，有研究顯示，一個10kg的兒童只要吸收1-3g的氟，便已有機會出現急性中毒的症狀，包括嘔吐、頭痛、暈眩等等 。英國有一案例：一個小女孩由十八個月大開始使用含氟牙膏，九歲開始她就開始出現腿部疼痛和持續性的頭痛。而當她停用含氟牙膏後，症狀卻開始消失。到她十一歲，問題都沒有再出現（除非她到訪提供含氟自來水的地區）。
1997年起，美國食品藥品監督管理局已規定含氟牙膏的包裝上必須印上「有毒提示」（Poison Warning），禁止6歲以下的兒童接觸。
3. 不含人造起泡劑SLS
普遍牙膏含大量泡沫，源於添加強效清潔起泡劑SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate月桂基硫酸鈉)。SLS具有刺激性，長期使用會令牙肉變得敏感，甚至腫脹出血。
